May
2012.
More than likely cancer
has touched our lives in one way or another. For some,
cancer may have touched your life personally, or through
a loved one or friend. Nevertheless, we all have been
touched some how by cancer. This year Relay for Life is
May 4th and 5th at Petal Relay Park and Petal-Harvey
will have a booth. Make sure you are part of the PHBC
team. If you’re on another team, make sure you come by
and help support us as we raise money to help find a
cure.
We have many high school seniors who will begin a new
chapter in their lives on Friday, May 18th when they
graduate. On Sunday, May 6th during our 9:00 (AM)
worship service we will be recognizing them and honoring
them with a gift. Then, at 10:30 (AM) we will serve them
brunch in the fellowship hall along with their families.
As their church, let’s pray for God to guide them as
they move into this new chapter in their lives. Our
Associate Pastor of Students, Jason Wade, will bring the
message that morning to encourage and challenge our
graduates.
On May 6th, at the close of our evening service, we will
have a special time of prayer for several of our college
students who will spend their summer serving on mission.
Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 13th. One sure way to honor
your mother is to attend church with her and let her
know how much you love and appreciate her. So, let’s not
forget Moms on May 13th because our moms do play a huge
part in our lives.
We are truly blessed with talent here at PHBC and some
of that talent will shine on Sunday, May 20th, at 6:00
(PM) when our 1st-6th graders present their “FOLLOW U”
musical. Our music teachers and children have been
working extremely hard getting ready for this, and I
know our hearts will be blessed.
Then, to close out the month of May, we are going to
have a church-wide homemade “ICE CREAM” fellowship in
the fellowship hall. The fellowship will start at 6:00
(PM) so go ahead and make plans to join us for a “sweet”
time of fellowship!
Blessings,
Tracey Hipps
